Investing to support our Aerospace and Defense and Automotive and Industrial segments

Thuro Metal Products purchases 2 Wickman ACW 6-35s Multi-Spindle Machines and 2 Mori Seiki SY/700 Mill/Turn CNC machines.

Thuro continues to make significant investments to better serve our customers. In the last twelve months, we have added two additional machines to each division for a total of four. The benefit to our customers is better lead time and cost.

Staying diverse but highly specialized and capable

Often, our Aerospace and Defense (A&D) clients provide us with high mix and lower volume part families to machine and assemble. Conversely, often, our Automotive and Industrial clients (A&I) require we have the capability to support lower mix, and higher volume part families. High volume requires machines which can have up to 14 tools at work simultaneously. Multiple Spindle machines for the right application are phenomenal in reducing component cost. They also enable us to deliver high quality parts in significant quantities, such as 100,000 per month from one machine, when you need them.

For our A & I clients, whose components often have more complex geometry, machine tools which can make complex precision parts in one operation (done in one) are essential for us to meet our customers’ needs.

Thuro is increasing service and lowering cost through Standardization.

The machine pictured above will be one of five of its type. Standardizing our machinery enables us to provide faster service at lower cost. Our efforts and investments in standardization are also dramatically reducing the age of our equipment, improving our reliability to our customers.
